Are files uploaded to a server?

No. Processing stays in your browser — files are not uploaded.

Is legacy .doc supported?

Only .docx for now. In Word, use Save As → .docx first.

Can it handle very large files?

Larger documents work, but take longer. Keep this tab open until it finishes.

Will layout break after compression?

Layout structure is usually unchanged. Image slots stay; clarity may drop with stronger compression.

Will my original file be overwritten?

No. You download a new compressed file; the original stays untouched.
